One thing I have noticed in life Colby is that there is not realy an age difference if you be friends

If we get a SouthEast sector going, count me in. But I sure hope we do a t-shirt too.

Looks like a great time. Like the other out of range people, I am terribly envious!

What more to add that's already been said??? I've been crying tears of joy since saturday, i'm still floating in happiness as i write this, this gift swept me off my feet bud, you made me cry by your post in my Mom's guitar thread but it was not enough huh? You gotta be a somebody to make a Bear cry, Hesh you are that kind of Man that is able to make this world better for all the people you touch by your kindness and by your generosity...... i must have plucked that sensible string of yours real hard when i gave my Mom her guitar, i know exactly how you felt when you announced your gift to me but now, i know exactly how my Mom felt when i received yours, it is as if the lightning had struck me through the heart, i was in disbelief at first and i reacted the exact same way my Mom did, refusing the gift at first and feeling guilty for some reason, thinking that i did not deserve something that beautiful... i do now! Thank you, you touched my heart forever my friend and so did Lacey with her heart inlay that she will send me for my Mom's guitar! Dang, i'm crying again you Heshter dude!

Giving away a musical instrument that you made with love feels so great that i will repeat that experience in the coming months for my Dad, my wife and my Godfather, i will also give away all my factory builds to friends in need of sunshine in their lives.... it is easy to give but sometimes harder to receive so Hesh and Lacey, brace yourselves because the same will happen to you both my great friends, someone else than me will touch your hearts, that person will be guided or manipulated by a stronger hand than ours to surprise you both with love in abundance, and i hope i can be there on that day to smile and cry tears of joy with you both!

Saturday july 29th 2006 will be inlayed and engraved in my memory and heart for the rest of my life, the air was easier to breathe, the light shined bright on all of us, it was one of the best days of my still young life, i felt a lot like i felt on my wedding day, God's presence warming up our space...

My Heshtone guitar is now safe at my home and has been played with care and love and will be cherished 'till the day i die.

Best regards

Your friend for life

Geez, you guys are making my cry here...

Hesh, that was about the most wonderful thing I've heard of someone doing in a long time. Be watchin' your door man...you just never know what might show up there.

I'm inspired by both of you guys.

Your a good man Serge.

Hey did anyone notice where I'm standing in the group photo?

You guessed it. Right between two sets of awesome ZOOT.    Bobc38929.7631018519

I'm really bummed I couldn't make it either. Sounds like you had a great time! Way to go Hesh, that act of generosity pretty much sums up what the OLF is to many of us. I enjoyed this post and living through each of you vicariously.

Man, I wish I could have been there! I might have been champion weeper of the day.

Hesh, that is the single most generous show of friendship I think I've ever heard of. You da man!

One of you fellas took a picture of all those guitar cases opened and laying on Bob's lawn. Serge not sure if it was you -- or whoever -- I would be great if you could post it. It looked like it would be a great shot.

(Nice post Sergio)

Hello Brothers! I just returned this evening from the 1000+ mile round trip and started reading the posts over the past few days. It's nice to be home but I also feel that I left another home in Ft. Erie. I'm exhausted and should get some needed rest but I just wanted to check in.

This event was an unbelievable transformation from what once was a group of best frients I NEVER met to the best group of friends I'll EVER meet!!!

Special thanks to Bob and the Cefalu family for organizing and planning the festival. To the lovely and gracious Roseann for the food preparation...it was very special and more than enough to keep up everyone's high level of energy. Thanks, Rosie!

The posts above capture the feelings quite well..it was well worth the trip. I only hope I can make future gatherings wherever they may be.

This is a difficult spot to post into this thread. After all, what more can be written?

I have watched this thread unfold like a pure white friendship sail unfurling in a sweet cool wisp of wind, knowing full well that it would eventually be fully opened for all to see the grandeur and power within.

It happened tonight.

Arthur Waley once wrote ~”I want to be your friend, for ever and ever without break of decay. When the hills are all flat and the rivers are all dry, When it lightens and thunders in winter, when it rains and snows in summer, when Heaven and Earth mingle - not till then will I part from you. “

Well, Hesh and Serge – you have made that friendship happen.

What started as a get together of people with a common interest and love of luthier, has turned into an event of camaraderie and life-long friendships. Each and every person who attended came away with a special gift – new friends.

As I have read through this thread, I have had cause to reflect upon my actions as a person in this world. I realize I need to be more generous in all I do, say, and think and view every encounter as a cornerstone of a new friendship. I hope this has touched each of you positively in some way or another.

I want to thank you Hesh and Serge for setting a new standard in my life. Generosity of the heart is my new goal.

I had agreed with an early OLF member that the OLF is family (ohana) and this is so evident in what we are reading within this thread. I would be honored to find a friendship anywhere like Hesh and Serge have found here through OLF.

See, this isn’t just about the pictures, it’s not just about the guitars, and it is not just about the printed words, but of a deep friendship that grew out of a forum and a love of luthier. Isn't it wonderful!

Peace.

PS: Lance if you need to delete this post – I understand.

Reminded me of a couple times in my life - at my sirprise 40th a few back, my best friend shows up last, and I not knowing he was coming, let him play my first and second guitars - he not knowing that number two was for him (number three went to my best university friend for a surprise at Christmas a month later). Quite a present for me to see the look on his face, and his wife's. Then a year or so later, we cook up a three way deal where another of his friends gets one of my guitars, I get his unused Unisaw, and he just stands there and watches the expression on everyones face. Recently he bought a demo guitar from me and GAVE it to the music lead at his church. Unselfish doesnt start to describe this wonderful human being - we are all so lucky to have people like this in our midst. You da man Hesh.
